Parking Citations

The City Animal Control Officer also serves as the City's Parking Enforcement Officer.  In all cases of violations, if the officer discovers a vehicle illegally parked, the officer shall deliver a citation to the operator, or, if the vehicle is found to be unattended, attach a citation to the vehicle in a conspicuous place. The violation of any ordinance that prohibits parking within the city is a misdemeanor.  The violation shall be subject to a fine.  Fines range from twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for violation of a specific ordinance up to the fine of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for illegally parking in a Handicapped space.

Payment of Fines

If your vehicle was issued a citation, you have thirty (30) days including weekends and holidays from the date of issuance to pay the penalty shown on the ticket. A late fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) is added if not paid within the first 30 days.  A $20.00 flagging fee is added if an additional 30 days pass without a payment made on or before the next the due date.

You have 15 days from the date of issuance to request a court hearing date.
