To strengthen families and help youth thrive by equipping parents with the skills necessary to meet the developmental needs of children up to 18 years- so that youth can maximize their potential at home, in school and in the community.
Established in 2017, Laurel Helping Hands is a community based, family oriented counseling program dedicated to promoting responsible behavior and appropriate family management skills. Individuals and families may receive counseling services at scheduled times during the week. We also offer weekly group counseling services at local public schools.
The staff at Laurel Helping Hands is committed to providing collaborative counseling tailored to the individual needs of the client. Our counseling services are designed to support healthy behaviors, emotional growth and to improve family and peer relationships. We partner with each family to tailor a course of treatment that fits their particular needs and to create a positive change for their youth, adolescent and family.
Families come to our program with their child/ren having challenges with a variety of issues. While the list below is not comprehensive, we’ve had success with youth experiencing:
Anger management ADHD
Anxiety/Depression Lack of social skills
Grief and loss Family conflict
