Our department is excited about joining the National Park Trust’s #MyParkMyWhy campaign because we are thrilled to share the awesome parks that Laurel, MD has to offer and why we think parks are important for all people to experience. We challenged Mayor Craig A. Moe and the City of Laurel Councilmembers to share their favorite parks. Now they want YOU to create your video and use the hashtag #MyParkMyWhy and be sure to tag the National Park Trust and Laurel Parks & Recreation.
In addition to the #MyParkMyWhy campaign, we encourage you to celebrate National Kids to Park Day on Saturday, May 15, 2021. COVID-19 has impacted everyone and has limited our ability to interact with our beloved national, local, and state parks. With this in mind, this year, the Park Trust will not be promoting “special” park events but instead encouraging people nationwide to celebrate the day at local parks and public lands with their household groups or established Covid “bubbles”, focusing on close-to-home outdoor spaces and experiences.
Send us your photos from now until May 15th so we can post them to our Facebook page on Kids to Park Day!
