MGM Resort/Casino & National Harbor Waterfront

Enjoy free admittance to the glittering Casino and explore different levels of the opulent building and all its amenities. Gambling is not required. Check out the Conservatory and take in the beautiful rooftop view with its mesmerizing water fountain overlooking the ports of the National Harbor and check out the great vista of our Nation’s Capital. You’ll want to take lots of pictures!  If desired, have lunch on your own at one of the restaurants at the casino. One can even enjoy rooftop dining! We leave MGM @ 4:00 PM and head to National Harbor where one can indulge in alluring sights including the Great Awakening Statue in the sand and Air Force 1 and an array of wonderful restaurants and shops to fill anyone’s tastes. Don’t forget a chance to ride (optional at $15) the Giant Ferris Wheel known as the Capital Wheel, which is air-conditioned and fully enclosed. What a memorable sight of the city that gives you! Enjoy dinner on your own at one of the exquisite restaurants or inexpensive eateries. Check out the elegant Gaylord Hotel/Conference Center with its beautiful landscaping (inside and out) and cascading waterfall.

This famous classic Christmas tale will warm your hear and get you in the spirit of the holidays. The historic theater is magnificent as well as the Lincoln Museum downstairs (catch a glimpse during intermission).  We will have dinner (on your own) next door at Hard Rock Café. All trips are on a first come, first serve basis and are subject to change or cancellation due to insufficient registration. Pre-registration is MANDATORY. Registration and payment for all programs/trips can be processed at the Laurel Armory, Robert J. DiPietro Community Center, or Laurel Municipal Center. Online registration is permitted once you are entered into the City system; parents MUST register their own child in the system FIRST before registering online. No adult is permitted to register other people’s children for the City system. Children under the age of 18 are welcome to attend family trips with a parent/legal guardian but must be 4'9'' or taller due to the State of Maryland Child Passenger Safety Laws. Children who require a child restraint or booster seat will not be permitted to attend these trips. Refunds are only issued if a program/trip is cancelled. Registration and monies will not be taken on the day of the trip. Trip costs include transportation and admission unless stated otherwise. All trips leave from Robert J. DiPietro Community Center, 7901 Cypress Street, Laurel MD 20707.
