Consideration of a bid recommendation for a City-wide Radio System
Kevin Frost, Chief Information Officer, presented the bid recommendation for the General Government Radio System Upgrade, as outlined in a memorandum dated June 23, 2021. The General Government Radio System is used by all departments to conduct daily operations and serves as a backup to the police radio system. The new Motorola Mototrbo radio system will provide enhancements to the City's current system such as integrated GPS tracking, texting, emergency alerting and group calling. Funding is included in the Capital Improvement Program under City-wide Radio Project. It was recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the contract to Procomm Communications LLC of Jessup, Maryland for a total of $157,919.46 under the State of Maryland Radio Communications Contract. Council agreed to award at the Mayor and City Council Meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.
Consideration of a recommendation for purchase request for Lexipol Services - Laurel Police Department
Russell E. Hamill, Chief of Police, presented the recommendation to purchase Lexipol Services, as outlined in a memorandum dated June 23, 2021. The Laurel Police Department is
requesting to purchase the Lexipol Annual Law Enforcement Policy Manual & Daily Training Bulletins with Supplemental Publication Services with Procedures, to assist in updating, managing, and implementing the LPD General Order/Policy Manual. Funding for this purchase is included in the FY2021 Operating Budget. It was recommended the Mayor and City Council approve the purchase for a total amount of $44,934.55. Council agreed to award this purchase at the Mayor and City Council Meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business for the work session the meeting was adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
