CITY OF LAUREL BOARD OF APPEALS
THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2020 – REGULAR

The minutes of the April 23, 2020 meeting were approved as written on motion by Mr. Whitley and seconded by Mrs. Leszcz carried on a roll call vote of all other members present.
Next, the Board heard the request for Variance Application No. 900 and Resolution No. 20-04-BOA, 15409 Laurelton Drive Laurel, Maryland 20707, filed by Transforming Architecture, LLC 7612 Browns Bridge Road Highland, MD 20777. Ms. Pulley completed the reading of the record for the administrative approval process and presented the technical staff report dated March 24, 2020, stating the applicant is seeking Variance approval to reduce the left side yard setback of the property from eight (8) feet, as stated in the City’s Unified Land Development (ULDC), to seven (7) feet. The subject property was built in 1962 and has lot area of 10,141 square feet and an above-grade living area of approximately 1,901 square feet.
It was announced by staff that the applicant and/or owner was not on the call, however, they were invited to join the virtual meeting.
Chairman Lee opened the public hearing at 6:05 p.m.
There was nobody signed up to speak.

There was discussion amoung the Board and staff regarding any feedback from neighbors since the proposed project is close to their property line. With an ad being ran in the Prince George’s County paper, public hearing notices prjected on the property and contigiuos letters sent out weeks in advance, there were no responses with objection or concern.
On motion by Mrs. Collins seconded by Mrs. Leszcz, and carried on a unanimous vote by all members present, Variance Application No. 900 and Resolution No. 20-04-BOA were approved as presented in the Technical Staff Report.
