Work Session Minutes, Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 7:00 p.m.
Craig A Moe, Mayor; Frederick Smalls, Council President; Keith R. Christy Fang, City Engineer, presented the bid recommendation for LA-19-02, as outlined in a memorandum dated December 24, 2018. The project includes the construction and repair of concrete sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and concrete curbing at various locations in the city. At a sealed bid opening on November 16, 2018, a total of thirteen bids wre opened and are outlined in the memorandum. It was recommended the Mayor and City Council award the contract to Service All, Inc., a certified contractor from Bowie, Maryland for their low bid of $56,478.10, with an additional $28,521.90 as a contingency for a total of $85,000. The references for this contractor include work performed for the Maryland State Highway Administration and the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. The Councilouncilmember's were in agreement to award the contract at the regular meeting scheduled for Monday, February 11, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
Kevin Frost, Director of Information Technology presented the recommendation to Purchase Motorola Computer Aided Dispatch Licenses, as outlined in a memorandum dated January 16, 2019. The Department of Information Technology has a funded project to implement new Police law enforcement software. As part of that implementation, it is necessary to purchase three (3) Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) licenses. Funding is included in the current Capital Improvements Program: CAD Upgrade Project. The licenses are to be purchased under the Prince George's County Motorola contract (ARO No. 0716-0071-20144). It was recommended the Council approve the purchase of three (3) Premier One Cad licenses for the contract price of $43,500.00. The Councilmember's were in agreement to award the contract at the regular Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, February 11, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Moe presented Resolution No. 2-19, a resolution of the Mayor and City Council to establish a Task Force to explore the possibility of creating a no-kill community Animal Shelter within the City of Laurel. Mayor Moe explained that the recommendation would come back tot eh Mayor and City Council to make the final decision. Councilmember's were in agreement to move forward with the legislation at the Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, February 11, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Council the meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
