Our department is excited about joining the National Park Trust’s #MyParkMyWhy campaign because we are thrilled to share the awesome parks that Laurel, MD has to offer and why we think parks are important for all people to experience. We challenged Mayor Craig A. Moe and the City of Laurel Councilmembers to share their favorite parks. Now they want YOU to create your video and use the hashtag #MyParkMyWhy and be sure to tag the National Park Trust and Laurel Parks & Recreation.
In addition to the #MyParkMyWhy campaign, Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Granville Gude Park.
School-aged kids, 12 years of age and under, can take part in a Stride to Ride program. To register for your free pass, come to the Lakehouse concession window on the day of the event between 12:00 and 4:00pm.
If your child completes one full lap around the lake path, they will be awarded one free pedal boat pass to use anytime during the Lakehouse hours of operation for the 2023 season. The event is free and is sponsored by the Laurel Department of Parks and Recreation.
Granville Gude Park is located at 8300 Mulberry Street in Laurel. For more information, please call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 301-725-7800.
