Laurel Helping Hands is a family focused, community based counseling program. Our mission is to strengthen families and help youth thrive by equipping parents with the skills necessary to meet the developmental needs of children up to 18 years- so that youth can maximize their potential at home, in school and in the community. We also work with adults up to 24 years, in some circumstances.

We use a Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach that focuses on identifying individuals’ and families’ strengths and emphasizes skill development.  We provide Individual, Family and Group Counseling to address a wide range of behavioral and mental health needs.

  • Anger management
  • Anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Personal development
  • Parenting
  • School performance
  • Family conflict
  • Separation and divorce
  • Lack of social skills

We also provide

  • Alcohol and Other Drug Assessments
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Information and Referral Services

We are currently accepting new clients so give us a call, and if we do not offer the service you need, we will help you find it

Services are free for students participating in the Free And Reduced Lunch Program. Financial aid is also available for other students so no child or youth will be turned away due to inability to pay.

Dispute Resolution and Managing Anger (DRAMA Club) group for Middle-schoolers is about to start soon. Please see the attached flyer.

Laurel Helping Hands Youth Services Bureau is funded in part by Prince George’s County Department of Family Services and the Commission for Children, Youth and Families (DFS/CYFD). Information in this publication does not necessarily reflect the views of the Department, Commission or County.
